YA Book Series Adaptation
This is a pitch deck I designed back in 2017 for a director who was up for an adaptation of Kiera Cass' New York Times bestselling five-book, young adult dystopian fantasy series, The Selection.
This was far more intricate than any pitch deck ever need be. It went well into the realm of world-building and preproduction design. I designed signets for caste systems, sketched fashion silhouettes, imagined a world where nature became the luxurious and scarce commodity rather than technology, and built out an entire world to match. Including the eco-bio-couture with “living” and blooming garments, invented unique methods of training local fauna similar to falconry, and even made a travel guide. This pitch deck served as my first entree into the wonderful realm of “world-building.”
The title and details of this project have been withheld for copyright reasons. But you can check out this lookbook—as well as it’s companion Travel Guide below—because they are pretty awesome.
